On May 16, the Swedish Government decided that Sweden will apply for NATO membership. The decision is based on a security analysis that the Government invited the other Riksdag parties to take part in. On June 29, Heads of State and Government of the North Atlantic Alliance, invited Finland and Sweden to become members of NATO, and agreed to sign the Accession Protocols.
NEWSA Schengen visa is required for persons of certain nationalities who wish to visit the Schengen countries. A Schengen visa can be issued for a maximum of 90 days. U.S citizens do not need a visa to visit Sweden if the visit is 90 days or less. More information on applying for a visa to Sweden here.
