Embassy hours:
Due to COVID-19, the Embassy is implementing a number of actions to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus and to ensure the health and safety of our colleagues and our community. We follow the guidelines and recommendations from local authorities. The plan is to gradually open as the District of Columbia Government moves into the different phases of reopening.
The Embassy is offering limited consular services by appointment only. Appointments have to be scheduled through the below link and email:
Passport services: Passports - Sweden Abroad
Passport appointments can currently be scheduled until August 30, 2021. All available appointments are visible in the online calendar through above link; if you cannot see any available slots we are unfortunately fully booked.
Visa services: ambassaden.washington-visum@gov.se
Phone hours are: Monday-Friday 9:00 am - 4:00 pm (closed for lunch 12:00-1:00 pm).
Please note: Washington, DC regularly updates its rules for visitors to the area. We urge all visitors with appointments at the embassy for renewal of passports, visa interviews and any other consular matter to find out what applies to your state of departure before traveling to DC. It is mandatory for all people over 2 years of age to wear a face mask in Washington D.C. when you step outside of your home.
In case of an emergency outside regular office hours, call the Embassy and follow the instructions.
