During October a number of events on university collaborations between Sweden and Japan will take place. Starting off on the 6 October in Kyoto, The Embassy together with The Swedish Foundation for International Cooperation in Research and Higher Education (STINT) will gather leaders from top Japanese and Swedish universities, and from Japanese and Swedish research funding organisations, to discuss the next steps in strategic university collaboration between our two countries, for sustainability and increased impact.
This will be followed by the 2018 MIRAI seminars in Tokyo on October 9-12. MIRAI is an ongoing strategic project between leading universities involving eight Japanese and seven Swedish universities. The Ambassador will host a reception and there will also be an Alumni event for the Swedish MIRAI universities at the Embassy. During the following days, the participating universities will hold series of seminars at the MIRAI universities in Tokyo, focusing on Innovation, Sustainability, Ageing and Material Sciences. More information about the 2018 MIRAI seminars can be found here.
The Linneus University will also hold an alumni event at the Embassy. Additionally, the Stockholm-Tokyo University Partnership will meet in Tokyo on 29-30 October.
