Acceptera alla Endast nödvändigaTo mark the 150th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Sweden, a joint statement on deepening research and innovation collaboration between the two countries was signed on Governmental level on the 10th of October.
Main topics the statement includes are:
• Continued building of strategic collaborations between universities in both countries, aiming for long term sustainability and increase impact.
• International joint research and innovation collaborations through funding agencies in both countries, directed towards solutions for societal challenges.
• Cooperation through world-class large-scale synchrotron and neutron facilities in both countries.
The joint statement was issued by the Ministry of Education and Research and the Ministry of Enterprise and Innovation on the Swedish side, and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports Science and Technology on the Japanese side.
“This statement reflects a number of initiatives taken in recent years by universities and research agencies on both sides”, says ambassador Robach, and he warmly welcomes the shared commitment to strengthen cooperation both in research and education.
