Study + Work in Sweden @ OSAKA, KANSAI EXPO

On June 7th, we will be holding a "Study + Work in Sweden" at the Nordic Pavilion in the Osaka, Kansai Expo.

The event consists of a presentation of the process of studying in Sweden, panel discussions by alumni and Swedish companies. On the day, we plan to distribute a guide to studying in Sweden, materials on Swedish universities, Swedish career guides, scholarship information, and more! For companies, it is a great opportunity to directly interact with prominent students to introduce your company!

Target audience: People who have studied at a Swedish university, people who are planning to study in Sweden, people who want to work for a Swedish company or in Sweden, university staff, Swedish companies. High school and secondary school graduates are also welcome!

Date: Saturday, June 7, 2025, 16:00-18:30
Location: Nordic Pavilion at the Osaka-Kansai Expo

Participation fee: Free, but advance registration is required. The admission ticket to the Expo will be provided. If you would like to participate, please register using the link below. Registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration will close as soon as the maximum number of participants (50) is reached.

Received the top prize in the university student division of the 6th Tobitate! Currently a technology teacher at Hirano Junior High School attached to Osaka Kyoiku University. While studying technology education at Linnaeus University for one year, he also completed his teaching practice at a local school. He will talk about the appeal of studying abroad in Sweden and how his experience is being utilized in his current career.

"Experiences of Students from the Swedish Language Department at Osaka University"

Panelist 1 Mr. Tetsuya Sakamoto
He majored in Swedish language at the Department of Foreign Studies, Osaka University from 2020. He took one year off from the university and studied at Folk High School in a town near the west coast city, Gothenburg from 2022 to 2023. He took a course called Adventure Coach and had both practical classes such as climbing, hiking, camping, canoeing, skiing besides fitness and theoretical classes such as anatomy, nutrition, exercise theory besides leadership. After coming back to the university in Japan, he graduated in March of 2025 and now he is studying the relationship between Sweden and EU at the Graduate School of Humanities at Osaka University.

Panelist 2: Ms. Akiho Tamada
She studied at Lund University as an exchange student (2023HT-2024VT) and took courses on Swedish film and literature. She joined Lund University Orchestra “Akademiska kapellet” and performed in several concerts. Currently She is back at Osaka University and working on her bachelor thesis about Fredrik Backman's work.
