There is a lockdown in Jordan from Tuesday 10 November at 22:00 to Sunday 15 November at 06:00.
NEWSThe Jordanian government has decided on far reaching measures to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus, leading to COVID-19 disease.
The Jordanian government has activated the Defense Law, which among other things means that people are asked to stay at home and only move outside their home in emergency. The possibility of travelling within the country is restricted.
The Embassy of Sweden in Amman is following and supporting the decision by the Jordanian government and urges everyone in Jordan to do the same. The Embassy is minimizing its operations and staffing and will not receive any visitors to the Migration Section in the near future unless it is unavoidable and of utmost urgency. Applicants who already have an appointment booked at the Embassy will be rescheduled to May and June. The Embassy will contact those applicants by email.
If for any reason, you need to visit the Migration Section of the Embassy of Sweden in Amman, you have to book an appointment prior to your visit to the Embassy. No visitors without an appointment confirmation in writing sent by the Embassy will be accepted at the Migration Section. This decision is valid until further notice.
No appointments will be given over the phone or in person. Appointment are made on the Embassy website: https://www.swedenabroad.se/en/embassies/jordan-amman/contact/contact-for-visa-and-migration-matters/book-an-appointment/
Fill out the form with all information required. If the reason for the appointment is something else than the options given, fill out the details in the field for "other information".
The Embassy will remain open with an absolute minimum of staff and we can be reached during our regular phone hours and by email. Migration related questions via email will be answered faster if they are written in English. The email address is ambassaden.amman-visum@gov.se.

If you have provided biometrics, it takes approximately 4 weeks from the decision to produce and deliver the UT card to the Embassy. Unfortunately there is no way to expedite this process. You should normally collect your residence permit card from the embassy or consulate-general where you took photographs and fingerprints. If you are unable to collect it there you can send an e-mail to the embassy and request them to send the UT card to another embassy or to the Swedish Migration Agency in Sweden where a relative who has a power of attorney can collect it. Please note that residence permit cards are not sent by regular mail and changing where you want to pick it up will delay the delivery with up to three weeks.
