Earlier this month the bilateral development cooperation team went on a joint field trip to Southern province. We witnessed the severe effects of deforestation, non sustainable agricultural production and climate change in a drought that is the worst since 1981. All the crops have failed and the cattle lack feed and water. 2 million people is in need of food relief in the country.
