The Swedish Embassy in Islamabad is looking for a Public Relations and Promotion Officer! Is that you?

 We are currently seeking to recruit a Public Relations and Promotion Officer. The position is full time (100%), based in Islamabad and available as soon as possible.

 The Public Relations and Promotion Officer is a member of the Embassy’s Political, Trade, Promotion and Communication Section.

Your job description is as follows: 

  • Responsible for updating the Embassy’s website and social media channels as well as developing public diplomacy campaigns, under the supervision of diplomatic staff.
  • Interact with media, plan media strategies and activities, monitor media content related to Sweden, Embassy activities and priority themes.
  • Plan, manage and implement projects, campaigns, and activities related to the image of Sweden.
  • Follow up and report on policy issues and activities relevant to the Embassy’s priorities. 
  • Participate in relevant EU meetings and other relevant meetings on behalf of the Embassy.
  • You might be asked to monitor and prepare in depth reports on the political and economic development in Pakistan.
  • As a member of the Embassy team, you are expected to assist in all matters and activities, where needed.

Required qualifications

  • Master’s degree in the fields of communication, journalism, economics, business, international trade, media and communications or other closely related field of study.
  • A minimum of 2 years of work experience in a similar position in an international environment.
  • Previous work experience in external communications, both spoken and written as well as with social platforms.
  • Experience in working with graphic profiling.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (written test/assessment will be part of the interview process for shortlisted candidates).
  • Fluency in English and Urdu. Skills in Swedish or in another language are considered an asset.
  • Strong organisational skill.
  • An interest in, and previous experience from Sweden is an asset.
  • Interest in and knowledge of politics is considered an asset.

 Employment conditions

  • Your standard working hours will be 39 hours and 45 minutes per week, but flexibility and work outside office hours and during weekends can be required.
  • Your salary will reflect your qualifications, relevant experience, and proven work-related result, in accordance with market salary.
  • 28 days of annual vacation during a calendar year.
  • After Six (06) months’ of probation you will be offered full-time employment if we are a match!
