Important Information for Non-EU Nationals Travelling to Sweden and Other Schengen Countries

Starting 12 October 2025, the European Union will introduce the Entry/Exit System (EES) across 29 countries in the Schengen Area — including Sweden.

The EES will digitally record:

  • Data from your travel document
  • Dates of entry and exit
  • Biometric data (facial image and fingerprints)

This new system replaces manual passport stamping and helps ensure compliance with the 90-day rule for short stays within the Schengen Area.

All personal data is processed in accordance with EU data protection regulations.
