Job vacancy: Consular Officer

The Embassy of Sweden in Manila is a small embassy located in a modern office space in Bonifacio Global City. We work closely with the Swedish Trade and Investment Council Business Sweden. Trade promotion plays a key role in the Embassy’s work. The consular service is a prioritized task. Political issues and Sweden promotion are also included in the Embassy’s undertakings.

The duties mainly consist of planning, coordinating, and executing the Swedish Foreign Ministry’s consular strategy to vulnerable Swedish nationals based on current guidelines for an array of issues and often in cooperation with Swedish, Philippine, or other international external partners on consular matters.

Essential Qualifications: 

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience working involving the application of Philippine and International policies and law, and or problem-solving experience.
• Experience of working in extensive public contact, customer service, wherein have proven to use resilience, patience, and adaptability in often challenging, difficult and stressful situations to manage customer expectations.
• Excellent English and Tagalog communication skills (verbal and written)
• Proficient IT skills including Microsoft Office applications and other workspace interfaces and software.
• Knowledge of the processing and protection of personal data 

Preferential qualifications:

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree
• Work experience in an embassy, international organization, local government agency or at an international workplace setting.
• Work experience in dealing with vulnerable individuals and in consular matters.
• Knowledge of any Scandinavian language would be an advantage but not a requirement.
