Amendment of temporary entry ban to the EU via Sweden due to COVID-19

On 25 June the Government decided to extend the temporary entry ban to the EU via Sweden until 7 July 2020. On June 4 the Government adopted certain amendments clarifying the ban. The aim of the entry ban is, as previously, to mitigate the effects of the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and reduce the outbreak of COVID-19. Due to the coronavirus and the temporary entry ban to Sweden, the Swedish Migration Agency has decided that the majority of visa applications will be rejected. This applies if you wish to visit Sweden and are a citizen of a country outside the EU.

Joint statement on safety of journalists and access to information during the COVID-19 crisis

In the light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the undersigned chairs and members of the Group of Friends on the Safety/Protection of Journalists are calling on all states to protect journalists’ and media workers’ safety, safeguard a free and independent media and ensure unhindered access to information, both online and offline.

    Once a week the 57 member states of the OSCE meet at the Permanent Council in Vienna, to discuss developments in the OSCE area. The Permanent Council is one of the main decision-making bodies within the organisation. At these meetings the EU also makes its statements.
