Peace Leaders from Jordan, Tunisia, Palestine, Yemen and Lebanon attended a 5-day training workshop in Amman 19 – 23 September 2018 organized by Fryshuset and Generations for Peace, supported by the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs. Peace Leaders is an all youth driven initiative bringing together the power of young activists for peacebuilding engagements. It is an international implementation of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2250 and acknowledges youth as a key stake holder in peacebuilding. At the initiative of Sweden and Peru, the Security Council adopted in June resolution 2419 which further reinforces the role of youth in conflict prevention and work against violent extremism. The Embassy participated in the opening of the training course.
