Migration update - Algeria

The Embassy of Sweden in Amman handles from 1 January 2026 migration matters for applicants from Algeria. This includes Algerian citizens and persons legally residing there.

Services available at the Embassy of Sweden in Alger by appointments are:

  • Interviews requested by the Swedish Migration Agency

You can attend your migration interview at the Embassy in Alger. The interviews are conducted via a video connection with the Embassy of Sweden in Amman. To be able to do this, you need to have received an email from the Swedish Migration Agency indicating that you need to contact the Embassy to schedule an interview appointment

  • Passport check

If the Swedish Migration Agency requests you to show your passport at a Swedish Embassy, you can visit the Embassy in Alger with a prior booking.

  • Receive a copy of your decision from the Swedish Migration Agency

You can receive a copy of your decision at the Embassy in Alger and you can come to the Embassy with a prior booking.

  • Have your fingerprints taken and be photographed for the residence permit card

You can have your fingerprints taken and be photographed at the Embassy in Alger with a prior booking.
