Do you want to work in a regional context with providing service and efficiency in migration issues?
The Embassy of Sweden in Amman is a regional hub for migration processing in the Middle East region.
As the duties and the responsibilities are increasing, there is a need of recruiting a new colleague to the Migration Section in Amman.
The Embassy of Sweden in Amman is responsible for representing Swedish interests in Jordan and promoting relations between the Kingdom of Sweden and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan within a range of political, commercial, economic and cultural matters. The Embassy has around 40
employees divided into four sections: a political section, a migration section, a regional development cooperation section and an administrative section.
The Migration Section is an essential part of the Embassy and the work is monitored by the Migration Agency in Sweden. The section has two posted staff from Sweden and four migration assistants.
The deadline to apply is 31st of October 2025 and the starting date is 1st of February 2026. The position offers full-time employment contingent upon satisfactorily completing the probationary period of 3 months.
Roles and responsibilities
• Conduct interviews in applications for residence permit in Sweden.
• Handling visa applications and administrative tasks related to the process.
• Communicate with the public and provide information in migration issues (mainly through email).
• Ensure that information regarding migration matters at the web page and other
communication channels is up to date.
• Contribute constructively to the migration team.
• Contribute to the Embassy work in general if needed.
Requirements
• University degree in an associated field such as administration, international relations or other relevant discipline.
• At least 3 years of relevant professional experience related to work in migration and visa matters, or at another Embassy.
• Excellent knowledge of written and spoken Arabic and English with the minimum of B2-level in each language.
• Strong computer skills and proficiency in using Microsoft Office with ability to easily learn new management systems.
Desirable skills
• Excellent knowledge of written and spoken French and Darija, with the minimum of B2-level, in addition to above mentioned language skills.
• Ability to work in a high paced environment.
• Ability to organize time, work independently, coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks to ensure that deadlines are met.
Personal suitability
• Social skills and effective interpersonal relations.
• Reliability and personal integrity.
• Initiative and ability to work independently.
The successful candidate will also:
Share basic values of Swedish policies, such as respect for human rights, non-discrimination on any ground, democracy, equality and transparency as well as enjoy the idea of representing Sweden and Swedish interests.
Demonstrate a high level of integrity and professional standards, showing discretion at all times.
Applicants who are not Jordanian citizens must hold a valid Jordanian work-permit or have permanent residency status in Jordan.

The Swedish Embassy is located in Abdoun, Amman. Salary is established according to education, experience and other relevant criteria, other conditions follows the Embassy´s terms and conditions for local staff.

The successful candidate will be required to pass security certifications before an offer can be made and accepted, including arranging for a certificate of criminal non-conviction and a medical certificate.
