On June 16th, Embassy of Sweden in Tokyo held a Study+Work in Sweden event in Hokkaido, in collaboration with Hokkaido University, Swedish universities and Swedish industry representatives.
Launched in 2024, the Study+Work in Sweden initiative showcases the opportunities that Sweden offers for higher education and careers with Swedish companies. Following successful events in Osaka and Fukuoka, the program made its Hokkaido debut this year.
Representatives from Lund University, Stockholm University, the University of Gothenburg, and Jönköping University introduced participants to Sweden's world-class education system. Students who had studied at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Karolinska Institutet also shared their firsthand experiences, giving attendees valuable insights into student life in Sweden. In addition, the Swedish dairy-farming company DeLaval joined the event to highlight career opportunities with Swedish employers, sparking great interest among participants.
Around 130 attendees, primarily highly motivated engineering and medical students, gathered at Hokkaido University's Enreisou Hall. Throughout the day, participants connected directly with university representatives, attended informative presentations, and enjoyed lively networking sessions—making the event a great success!
