On April 29, the Japanese government announced foreign recipients of Japanese awards for spring 2026.

Professor Wiberg has been involved in the start-up and development of MIRAI, a platform for academic exchange between Japan and Sweden that has been active since 2017, and has contributed to creating opportunities in Sweden to spread knowledge about Japan's high level of research, as well as to building a network between researchers in Japan and Sweden.
