18:35-18:50  "What a city should look like in the future through what I have learned during my stay in Sweden" by Ms. Mei Tomita

While studying urban planning at Institute of Science Tokyo, I began to question the future direction of cities and decided to study abroad to broaden my perspective. Drawn to Sweden, a leading country of sustainable urban planning, I pursued an exchange program at the graduate school of KTH Royal Institute of Technology from 2024 to 2025, where I studied urban planning. I have since returned to Institute of Science Tokyo and am currently researching community development in regional cities.

18:50-19:05  “Why Sweden as a Mid-Career Student? Lessons from Student Life and Career Development Afterward” by Mr. Hirokazu Yamamoto

I am currently with Ocean Network Express (ONE) Japan. After graduating from Kobe University in 2017, I worked for approximately six years as a deck officer at a shipping company different from my current employer. Following my resignation, I pursued graduate studies at KTH Royal Institute of Technology from 2023 to 2025, where I conducted research on digitalization in next-generation ship design and obtained a Master’s degree in Naval Architecture. I am now contributing to the safe operation of vessels from the shore side, drawing on both my onboard operational experience and the knowledge gained during my graduate studies.

19:30-21:00  Part 2 Booth Individual consultation and social gathering

*Each university will have a booth at the venue where you can directly consult with alumni. We will create a name tag that can identify the major, so that participants could enjoy interacting with the same study major.
