Passports and consular issues for Swedes 

Opening hours for passport and other consular issues Wednesdays and Thursdays 9:30 - 11:30 by appointment only. 

For urgent consular matters, such as death, serious illness or detention, the Consulate General can be reached by phone at +86 5359 9636 on working days 8:30 - 17:00. After 17:00, please contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' consular emergency hotline at +46 8 405 50 05.

Migration issues

As of October 1, all visa matters will be transferred to the Embassy in Beijing. For questions about visas, please contact the Migration Section at the Embassy at: visa.beijing@gov.se

The Consulate General will continue to process migration matters, such as collecting biometrics and issuing residence permits, as well as conducting interviews until October 30. The migration section is open for visitors on Monday - Friday at 9:00 - 11:00 (drop in). The migration section's telephone number: +86 21 5359 9639, telephone hours: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 14:00 - 15:00. You could also reach migration section through email: generalkonsulat.shanghai-visum@gov.se.

After October 30, all migration matters will be transferred to the Embassy in Beijing.
