The decision of European Commission as of 15.07.2025 establishing adapted rules on the issuing of multiple-entry visas to Turkish nationals residing in Türkiye and applying in Türkiye for short-stay visas.
If the applicant fulfils the entry conditions, a multiple-entry visa shall be issued for the following validity periods;
- To be able to have a validity period of six months, the applicant must apply for the visa within one year from the expiry date of a lawfully used previous visa.
- To be able to have a validity period of one year, the applicant must apply for the visa within two years from the expiry date of a lawfully used previous visa which was valid for six months.
- To be able to have a validity period of three years, the applicant must apply for the visa within two years from the expiry date of a lawfully used previous visa which was valid for one year.
- To be able to have a validity period of five years, the applicant must apply for the visa within two years from the expiry date of a lawfully used previous visa which was valid for three years.
- When the validity of the visa would exceed the validity of the passport, a multiple-entry visa shall be issued with a period of validity, ending three months before the end of validity of the applicant’s passport.
This Decision applies to visa applications for short-stay visas lodged by Turkish nationals residing in Türkiye.
It does not apply to truck drivers applying for a visa in their professional capacity.
