Getting Married in the U.S.

Different states have different requirements regarding marriage. Please contact the Marriage License Bureau or equivalent for detailed information pertaining to specific states.

You cannot get married at the Embassy in Washington DC or at any of the Swedish consulates in the U.S.

Sweden has diplomatic relations with almost all States in the world. It has embassies and consulates in around half of these. Sweden's foreign representation consists of approximately 100 missions abroad and 350 honorary consulates.
