Consulate General of Sweden in Jerusalem is recruiting a Driver (full time)

The Consulate General of Sweden in Jerusalem is seeking to recruit a Driver to the administrative section.

The Consulate General of Sweden is situated in Sheikh Jarrah, Jerusalem and has currently 25 employees. The mission’s areas of responsibility cover Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza. The tasks of the Consulate General include political reporting, international development cooperation as well as consular services.

The position is full-time on-site, starting as soon as possible. The Consulate General of Sweden applies an observation period of six (6) months.

As a Driver, you will:

  • Drive staff members to official meetings and other activities.
  • Carry out secure transports in co-operation with the security team.
  • Plan and coordinate the use of official vehicles together with the other drivers and the security team.
  • Ensure the upkeep and the service of vehicles.
  • Assisting in safety and security related matters.
  • Administrer vehicles.
  • Other administrative tasks assigned by the consulate.

 Qualifications:

  • Proven relevant professional experience as a Driver.
  • Knowledge of roads and geography on the West Bank.
  • Possession of a B and C1 driver’s license.
  • Knowledge and interest in vehicles maintenance and handling.
  • Good communication and observation skills.
  • Good proficiency in spoken and written Arabic and English and good knowledge of spoken and written Hebrew.
  • Sound judgement, with strong personal integrity and professional discretion.
  • Basic computer literacy and experience with office management software, such as MS Office.
  • Possession of a Jerusalemite ID is essential due to the nature of the position, which involves working in East Jerusalem and frequent travel across the West Bank.

    Merits:

    • Defensive and advanced driving certificate.
    • Basic first aid/CPR certification.
    • Knowledge of security procedures, route planning, and emergency response.
