As Driver at the Embassy of Sweden in Bogotá, you will play a key role in ensuring safe, reliable, and professional transportation services. We are looking for a reliable and service-minded colleague with excellent driving skills and a strong sense of responsibility. The ideal candidate is highly organized, able to work independently, and skilled at coordinating and prioritizing tasks to ensure that transportation needs are met efficiently, and all assignments are completed on time.

Role and main responsibilities 

  • Safely operate embassy vehicles to transport the Ambassador, embassy staff, and official delegations.
  • Ensure punctual and efficient transport for meetings, events, and airport transfers.
  • Maintain vehicles in top condition through regular cleaning, refueling, and scheduling of service and repairs.
  • Assist with logistical planning for official visits and events, including route coordination and timing.
  • Handle delivery and collection of documents, parcels, and other items as needed.
  • Adhere to local traffic regulations and always follow embassy protocols.

Requirements

  • Possess a valid Colombian driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Have at least 8 years of professional driving experience, preferably within a diplomatic mission or international organization.
  • Hold certification for operating armored vehicles.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal communication skills in Spanish and basic proficiency in English.
  • Be well-acquainted with Bogotá’s road network and traffic patterns.
  • Have basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and the ability to identify and troubleshoot common issues.

  • A strong sense of responsibility, reliability, and punctuality.
  • The ability to remain calm, courteous, and professional in high-pressure situations.
  • High standards of discretion and respect for confidentiality.
  • Flexibility to work outside regular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when required.
  • Adaptability to changing schedules and the ability to follow instructions precisely.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to work well within a diverse team and interact respectfully with embassy staff and external contacts.

We offer

Terms and conditions apply through Colombian law and extra conditions apply through Swedish Foreign Ministry agreement such as competitive salary, 39,5 working hours, 28 vacation days, annual wellness and health promotion allowance and six months of paid maternity or paternity leave etc.
