Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden are very proud to unite in one pavilion for Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, taking place in Japan from April 13 to October 13, 2025.
The Nordic countries aim to strengthen ties with Japan and the Nordic participation underscores a significant commitment to the Japanese market. Japan is the world’s third largest economy with a population of 126 million people and represents an interesting market for sustainable and digital solutions and innovations.
Architect Michele De Lucchi and AMDL Circle will design and the Expo Design-Build Contractor RIMOND will build the pavilion. It will be a 1200-square-metre, 17-metre-tall structure made from timber and designed with the purpose of being reused – bringing the green way of thinking that we apply in the Nordics to the World Expo. At the heart of it, you will be able to visit an exhibition area as well as a rooftop with a restaurant and a Nordic Garden. There will also be meeting spaces and a business centre for marketing activities and themed events.
Nordic cooperation builds on the common values of the Nordic countries and is one of the world’s oldest regional collaborations. Today we have a vision that our region will be the world’s most sustainable and integrated region by 2030.
It is an opportunity for the world to join in on the Nordic model of trust, sustainability, and innovation.
See you in Osaka!
