Statement delivered by Ambassador Anna Jardfelt.
Madam President,
Sweden acknowledges that, since the last UPR, Honduras has taken steps toward countering impunity and corruption within the justice system. However, we remain concerned about the situation for the rule of law and as noted by the UN Special Rapporteur on the Independence of Judges and Lawyers, further efforts ought to be made in order to strengthen the independence of the justice system.
Sweden would therefore like to make the following recommendation:
