The play Seven - turns policies into practices

15 Jun 2018

The play Seven took place during the week leading up to the Human Rights Council meeting focusing on Women's rights. The aim was to support International Geneva "walk the talk" in leading a culture of respect and accountability to uphold human dignity, and create organisations that are free of harassment, abuse, and discrimination.

"We all have a key role to play to achieve gender equality”, highlighted Permanent Representative Veronika Bard at the opening of SEVEN - a documentary play on women's rights. “Together we can create safe spaces and a culture of respect, trust and accountability”, she stated.

The play portrayed seven courageous women and how they change their societies to the better overcoming abuse of power. 7onTourGeneva opened with a musical performance by the UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador and opera singer Barbara Hendricks.

Sweden was very proud to partner with International Gender Champions, European Union at the UN – Geneva, Geneva Centre for Security Policy, Vital Voices and World YWCA.
