On 4 September, Ambassador Anna Brandt, new Permanent Representative of Sweden to the World Trade Organization (WTO), presented her Credentials to Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the WTO.
Ambassador Brandt has more than 30 years of diplomatic experience in senior management positions. Most recently she headed the Trade Promotion Department at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. She has served as Sweden’s Ambassador to Kenya and to Ireland as well as Permanent Representative to the OECD and Unesco in Paris. She has been Executive Director and member of the Board of the World Bank Group (representing the Nordic Baltic countries) and Executive Director at the EBRD and the EIB. Previously, she was also Head of the Africa department, Deputy Head of the Asia Department and Sweden’s negotiator for the SDG:s.
