The Embassy of Sweden in Manila invites applications for the position of Social Secretary.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and coordinate official functions, receptions, and representational events hosted by the Ambassador and the Embassy.
- Prepare and maintain guest lists, manage invitations, and oversee social correspondence.
- Liaise with government officials, diplomatic missions, cultural institutions, and service providers.
- Manage the Ambassador’s calendar, including scheduling and coordinating meetings and events.
- Assist with protocol matters and ensure adherence to diplomatic procedures.
- Provide administrative support to the Ambassador and diplomatic staff in relation to representational activities.
- Perform other related tasks as required.
Qualifications and Competencies
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work with discretion, tact, and cultural sensitivity.
- Previous experience in event management, administration, or protocol-related functions.
- At least 10 years of relevant professional experience.
- Fluency in English and Filipino (spoken and written).
- Proficiency in standard office IT applications.
- Previous experience working with a Swedish government authority will be considered an advantage.
Terms of Employment
This is a full-time, locally recruited position. The Embassy offers an international and professional working environment with opportunities to engage with a wide range of stakeholders in the diplomatic, cultural, and business communities.
- The position is subject to a six-month probationary period.

Cashier & Administrative Assistant
The Embassy of Sweden in Manila is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Cashier & Administrative Assistant to support the Senior Financial Officer. In this role, you will assist with cashier duties and provide administrative support to the functioning of the Embassy’s financial and office routines.
The Embassy of Sweden in Manila is a small foreign mission with around ten employees, located in modern premises in Bonifacio Global City. Key Responsibilities
- Handle cashier support tasks, including receiving payments, reconciliations, and maintaining accurate records.
- Provide administrative assistance to the Senior Financial Officer, including filing, document preparation, and correspondence.
- Support with invoice processing and other routine financial tasks.
- Assist with the embassy’s general administrative matters and carry out general office duties such as scheduling, organizing meetings, and maintaining office supplies.
- Manage contacts with local authorities and external stakeholders.
- Ensure confidentiality and accuracy in all tasks performed.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Relevant experience of minimum 2-3 years as a cashier or in an administrative role.
- University-level education in economics, finance, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Good communication skills and service-minded attitude.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a small team.
- Strong interpersonal skills, initiative, and the ability to apply relevant guidelines.
- Excellent command of English and Filipino, both spoken and written.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience working in an Embassy or government institutions is an advantage.
- Residence close to the embassy, preferably in Taguig City, is considered an advantage.
