Telephone Hours
The embassy’s switchboard is open on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM for general inquries.
In case of a consular emergency, you can always call the embassy’s switchboard and choose to be connected to the emergency phone. Outside the embassy’s opening hours, you can always choose to be connected to the Consular Emergency Center in Stockholm. The Consular Emergency Center is available 24/7, every day of the year. It can also be reached at +46 8 405 5005.
Passports and ID Cards
The embassy receives visitors for passport and ID card renewal on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, by online appointment only. Read more and book an appointment here: Passports in Israel - Sweden Abroad.
Issued passports are handed out on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, without appoinment. Read more here: Passport pick-up - Sweden Abroad
Coordination Number and Retention of Swedish Citizenship
The embassy receives visitors for applications for a coordination number and retention of Swedish citizenship after the age of 22, by online appointment only. Read more and book an appointment here: Coordination number - Sweden Abroad
Life certificates
The embassy assists with stamping certificates of life by online appointment only. Choose “Visit us during office hours” as the reason for your visit. If you need help booking an appointment, you can call the embassy’s reception.
Visas and Migration Matters
As of 1 October 2025, the Embassy of Sweden in Tel Aviv no longer handles visa or migration matters. Instead, you should contact VFS Global to apply for a visa, or contact the Embassy of Sweden in Amman or another Swedish embassy in the region or within the Schengen area for residence and work permit matters.
The Embassy in Tel Aviv will not be able to answer questions regarding migration matters.
