Study in Sweden Fair Hong Kong 2026

The Consulate General in Hong Kong successfully hosted its second Study in Sweden Fair on 13 October 2026, achieving a record-high number of participants. The strong turnout reflects the growing interest in Swedish education and supports Sweden’s priority area of talent attraction.

Eight Swedish universities participated in the fair, which marked the first stop of their tour to China. Representatives engaged with prospective students and answered questions about programmes, admissions and student life. The Swedish Institute continued its valuable support by sending a representative to join the event, reinforcing close collaboration in promoting Sweden as a study destination.

The event format was redesigned from previous years to minimise time on stage and allow more opportunities for direct interaction between university representatives and participants. Each university was invited to deliver a one-minute pitch on stage, creating an energetic and fun introduction to the participating institutions. This format helped maintain momentum while giving prospective students more time to ask questions and connect with university representatives.

The fair attracted a diverse audience, including local and Mainland Chinese students, overseas students, parents, teachers and representatives from university international offices. Participants expressed interest in both bachelor’s and master’s programmes. Enquiries also extended beyond education to opportunities to work in Sweden.

The event was held at Eaton Hotel, a centrally located venue and long-standing partner of the Consulate General. The hotel’s inclusive approach to issues such as LGBTQ+ also aligned with Sweden’s commitment to equality and openness, making it a fitting venue for the occasion.

The record turnout demonstrates the value of strong partnerships, targeted outreach and personal engagement. Building on this momentum, the Consulate General will continue working with Swedish universities and partners to showcase Sweden’s educational opportunities and strengthen efforts to attract international talent. The close cooperation with the Swedish Institute remains central to a successful event.
