Sveriges nye ambassadör i Finland, Peter Ericson, överlämnade tisdagen den 3 september sina kreditivbrev till republikens president Alexander Stubb på Presidentens slott i Helsingfors.
Peter Ericson kommer närmast från posten som chef för Utrikesdepartementets enhet för Östeuropa och Centralasien. Han har tidigare varit ambassadör i Moskva (2015–2019) och generalkonsul i Istanbul (2019–2023).
Han har också varit chef för enheten för säkerhetspolitik på Utrikesdepartementet (2010-2015) och tjänstgjort vid FN-representationen i New York och vid ambassaden i Washington D.C. Peter Ericson har arbetat vid Utrikesdepartementet sedan 1989.
Sweden has diplomatic relations with almost all States in the world. It has embassies and consulates in around half of these. Sweden's foreign representation consists of approximately 100 missions abroad and 350 honorary consulates.
