On 18 May 2026, the Council of the European Union removed the temporary visa measures applied to Ethiopian citizens
Temporary visa measures which suspended certain elements of the EU Visa Code that regulate the issuing of visas to Ethiopian citizens have been removed (see press release from the Council of the European Union). From May 18, 2026, visa processing is now back to normal procedure.
