Videoconference on the topic of vaccination against Covid-19

The Embassy together with Business Sweden and the Czech Ministry of Health on Wednesday organized a videoconference on the topic of vaccination against Covid-19.

The main purpose of the meeting was to compare notes and benchmark at the beginning of this comprehensive vaccination campaign. The Czech Republic and Sweden both face and share challenges when it comes to strategy, implementation and information. Cooperation and sharing knowledge and best-practices will play a key role in this very important campaign.

Represented at the meeting was responsible authorities and ministries via, among others, National vaccination coordinator Zdenek Blahuta and epidemiologist Roman Prymula as well as General Practitioners Association’s chairman Svatopluk Byma. Participating in the discussion was also Jan Konvalinka, vice-rector for science and research at Charles University, Association of innovative pharmaceutical industry, via its director Jakub Dvoracek, as well as representatives from health care insurance and the pharmaceutical industry.

From the Swedish side Richard Bergström, Swedish vaccination coordinator, and Sören Andersson, responsible for the national vaccination program, took part.

The discussions showed the importance of cooperation and benchmarking and there was a consensus on following up with new discussions later on.
