About the Embassy

The Embassy of Sweden in Prague works to monitor, represent, and promote Swedish interests in the Czech Republic. The embassy handles matters related to politics, economic affairs, culture, and consular services. Our team consists of ten employees, including four posted from Sweden. The Swedish ambassador oversees and leads the work of the embassy. The office is located in a historic building at Uvoz 156/13 in Prague 1

Your Role as an Accounting assistant & administrator

As the accounting assistant at the embassy, you will be a key figure in our financial and administrative operations. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Finance: Cash management, bookkeeping, and payroll administration for our local staff.
  • Administration: Handling VAT and consumption tax refunds for the embassy and Business Sweden, as well as property administration, dealing with local authorities (municipalities, social security office and health insurance companies).
  • Materials and Contact Points: Managing office supplies and liaising with external parties on Assist with a variety of Ad hoc tasks

This is a varied and responsible role where you contribute to strengthening Sweden’s representation in the Czech Republic.

Qualifications and Skills

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A relevant educational background in finance (university level or equivalent).
  • Experience in bookkeeping and financial administration.
  • Experience in payroll administration.
  • The ability to work in a structured and meticulous manner with a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Proficiency in English at a professional working level is required.

It is an advantage if you also have:

  • Experience working in international environments.
  • Previous experience in similar roles.
  • Proficiency in Swedish.

Employment Terms

  • Full-time position with a six-month probationary period.
  • Start date: 1st of March 2026.
