The Swedish Migration Agency has, in consultation with the Swedish Ministry for Foreign affairs, decided to regionalize the handling of the migration activities at the Consulate General of Sweden in Shanghai to the Embassy of Sweden in Beijing.
As of October 1, all visa matters will be transferred to the Embassy in Beijing. For questions about visas, please contact the Migration Section at the Embassy at: visa.beijing@gov.se
The Consulate General will continue to process migration matters, such as collecting biometrics and issuing residence permits, as well as conducting interviews until October 30. After that, all migration matters will be transferred to the Embassy in Beijing.
Sweden has diplomatic relations with almost all states in the world, with embassies and consulates in around half of these. Sweden's foreign representation consists of approximately 100 missions abroad and 350 honorary consulates.
