Report Trade Barriers

The EU’s internal market covers an area without internal borders, where free movement is ensured in accordance with the provisions of the European Treaties. There should be no trade barriers between member states.

Despite this, Swedish companies and individuals often encounter obstacles to free movement. Trade barriers refer to any type of government measure that prevents or complicates trade in goods and services, for example through incorrect application of regulations, red tape, and unnecessary bureaucracy.

Helping Swedish companies with support and advice regarding trade barriers is one of the most important tasks of the foreign service.
