The Swedish Gender Photographer is coming to Shanghai

25 Sep 2019, 4.00 PM

From September 25 to October 20, the exhibition “Beyond the Norms: Images that Change the World” will be displayed for the first time in China.

The exhibition is produced by the Gender Photographer Tomas Gunnarsson and the project is co-organized by the Swedish Institute and the Consulate General of Sweden in Shanghai. The exhibition aims to increase inclusion and combat discrimination in terms of gender, ethnicity, religion disability, sexual orientation or age.

In connection to the original exhibition an additional six Chinese interpretations concerning gender and gender equality will be on display. The activities also feature interactive activities like photo booth sessions, a seminar on stereotypes of men and women in media as well as a film screening on the topic.
