A Schengen visa is required for individuals of certain nationalities who wish to visit the Schengen countries for up to 90 days. A Schengen visa can be issued for a maximum of 90 days. Canadian citizens and most citizens of North-, Central and South American countries do not need visas to visit Sweden if the visit is 90 days or less. Applications for Schengen visas are submitted to the external service provider VFS Global and will be processed by the Embassy of Sweden in Washington D.C..
