To improve the service available to those applying for a visa, the embassy cooperates with VFS Global.
Submission of application and collection of passport is through VFS Global. Applying at the VFS Global will be the easiest and most convenient way to apply. You can track the status of your passport via VFS Global's website.
A decision to your visa application will normally be available within 15 days. The Embassy strongly recommend applicants to apply earliest 3 months in prior to intended date of departure to avoid any inconveniences.
If you cannot contact VFS Global, submission of visa application can be made at the Swedish Embassy in Bangkok only if we represent your country. The Embassy accepts visa applications only on Fridays between 08.00 – 10.00 hours with prior booked appointment. However, we have limited opening days and hours for submission and cannot give the same and quick service as VFS Global. If you intend to visit Sweden for more than 90 days, please apply for a Visitor’s Permit at the Embassy on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday between 08.00 - 10.00 hours only.

Applicants from other countries
You can apply at VFS Global Thailand or with booked appointment at the Embassy in Bangkok if you can show that you are residing in Thailand.
Applicants from Myanmar should submit their visa applications at the VFS Global in Yangon.
Applicants from Vietnam should submit their visa applications at VFS Global in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City. Starting from March 15, 2017, visa applications is sent to the Swedish Embassy in Bangkok for decision.
From May 1, 2019, applicants from the Philippines should submit their Schengen visa applications at the VFS Global in Manila and Cebu. The visa applications are sent to the Swedish Embassy in Bangkok for decision.
From September 1, 2019, third country nationals with residence or work permit in Malaysia should submit their Schengen visa applications at VFS Global in Bangkok. Visit the VFS Global website for information about how to submit your visa application, opening hours, and other practical information.
Cambodia and Laos
Applicants from Cambodia and Laos should submit their visa applications at the French Embassy in their own countries.
