List of documents for applicants under the Directive 2004/38/EC:

Visa application form

  • The Schengen visa application form must be duly completed, dated and signed by the applicant.
  • For applicants under 18 years of age (minors), the application form must be signed by both parents/legal guardians.
  • Fields no. 21, 22, 30, 31 and 32 (marked with *) shall not be completed.

Photo
One recent passport-size photograph meeting ICAO standards. 

Original passport/Travel document
The travel document must:

  • be valid for at least three (3) months after the intended departure from the Schengen area,
  • have been issued within the previous 10 years, and
  • contain at least two blank pages.

National ID

Copy of internal passport’s bio-data page and pages containing registration stamps (if applicable).

Documents for non-Russian nationals

Applicants applying outside their country of nationality must provide proof of legal residence or legal stay in the country where the application is lodged, for example:

  • residence permit, valid for at least 3 months after leaving the Schengen area,
  • visa,
  • work permit, or
  • other document confirming lawful stay in Russia.

Documents relating to the EU/EEA/Swiss family member

Proof of family ties

Documents proving the family relationship with the EU/EEA/Swiss citizen, for example:

  • marriage certificate,
  • birth certificate,
  • certificate of registered partnership, or
  • other official document proving the family relationship.

Proof of the EU/EEA/Swiss citizen’s nationality

For example:

  • copy of passport bio-data page, or
  • copy of national identity card.

Documents relating to the journey

If travelling together with the EU/EEA/Swiss citizen to Sweden

  • proof of planned travel arrangements, such as flight or transport reservations for both the applicant and the EU/EEA/Swiss citizen.

If joining the EU/EEA/Swiss citizen in Sweden

  • proof that the EU/EEA/Swiss citizen resides or intends to reside in Sweden in accordance with EU free movement rules.

Documents relating to minors (under 18) traveling alone or without one parent/legal guardian

Birth certificate

Written consent from the parent(s) or legal guardian(s) not travelling with the child
The consent must be signed in the presence of a visa officer or be duly notarized.

  • If one parent or legal guardian has sole custody
  • Сourt decision or other official document proving sole custody.
  • Copy of passport or identity document of non-travelling parent(s) or legal guardian(s)

Additional information

The Embassy may request additional documents where necessary for the assessment of the application.

Family members covered by Directive 2004/38/EC are exempt from visa fees.
