How to apply

How to proceed:

1. Prepare the documentation
Check which documents and personal information you need. You must for instance have arranged for a passport and medical travel insurance and have booked an air ticket (although we advise you to delay payment until your visa has been granted), and you must also have an invitation from the person you will be visiting in Sweden.

Read more under ‘Required documents’.

2. Make an appointment
The Swedish Embassy in Tel Aviv doesn´t cooperate with any external actors (persons or companies) regarding applications for visas and residence permits. Application for a visa must be submitted to the Embassy in person. Application can not be sent by e-mail, fax or regular mail. This also means that the application can not be submitted by anyone else but the applicant him- or herself. You can make an appointment to submit an application by e-mail. (You can find the embassy's e-mail address by clicking on "Israel, Tel Aviv" in the blue box below and then "Contact").

3. Pay the application fee
The fee is to be paid at the time when you submit your application at the embassy.

Read more under ‘Fees’.

4. Visit the embassy
Bring the completed application form and all the required documents to the embassy at the appointed time. If you do not have all the documents with you, you will be asked to complete your application within 7 days. Otherwise there is a risk that your application will be rejected. During the visit, you may be required to answer some additional questions. Furthermore, applicants (from 12 years of age) must must have their biometric information taken (ten fingerprints and a photograph).

Fee should be payed at the embassy.

All family members who apply at the same time – including children – must visit the embassy.

You can find the address of the embassy by clicking on "Israel, Tel Aviv" in the blue box below.

5. Wait for the decision
When you present your application, you will be told when you can collect the decision and your passport. It usually takes 14 days from the date of submission of the application.
