All the information should be filled out before the visit. This is of utmost importance to avoid missing your booked time slot.
Do you have a coordination number (samordningsnummer)? According to current regulations, such numbers will automatically be declared inactive after five years if the Swedish Tax Agency(opens in a new tab) has not received an application of renewal. This might extend the processing time for administrative procedures, such as passport applications. If this applies to you, we kindly recommend contacting the Swedish Tax Agency to inquire about the status of your coordination number before your visit to the Consulate General, as you might be required to bring additional documentation for your passport application.
All minors (people below the age of 18) need to be accompanied by at least one of their custodians for the visit as well as bringing the filled out forms Consent of Custodian(opens in a new tab) and Swedish Citizen – Form for passport applicant(opens in a new tab). Please note that both forms need to be signed by both custodians.
It is also possible to renew your national ID card at the Consulate General.
To apply for a passport for a child born abroad, the child first must have been assigned a coordination number (samordningsnummer). More information about requisition of coordination number in Hongkong here.
To be able to renew your Swedish driver's licence you must be a permanent resident in Sweden or have studied in Sweden for at least six months. If you are registered in Sweden but currently abroad for a limited visit due to for example studies, work or vacation you have the possibility to apply for a renewal of your Swedish driver's licence.
If you are not registered in Sweden you are not able to renew your Swedish driver's licence.

The form for renewal can be picked up at the consulate general during office hours, weekdays 9-12. The form, in original, needs to be sent by the applicant to the Swedish Transport Agency (Transportstyrelsen).
Renewed driver's licences sent to the consulate general in Hong Kong can be picked up after notification. An appointment is needed.
The consulate general does not translate Swedish driver's licence.
The Swedish Transport Agency (Transportstyrelsen) is the governmental body responsible for Swedish driver's licences and can issue a certificate of a valid Swedish driving license for the purpose to apply for a driving license in Hong Kong.

Yes, the consulate general is authorized to sign and stamp life certificates.
The applicant must visit the consulate in person and bring a valid photo ID, preferablly a passport or a HKID. Life certificates are signed during office hours, weekdays at 9-12. No appointment needed.
