The Embassy of Sweden in Hanoi is seeking a committed Political Officer to fill a temporary vacancy to support its work in understanding and interpreting political and societal trends in Vietnam and the region.
This is a temporary position for around 7 months, starting from 1 August 2026. The position offers a unique opportunity to work in an international environment and contribute to the embassy’s political analysis, reporting, and engagement with partners. The position involves close contact with Swedish government agencies, Embassies and international organisations. You will work in a dynamic setting where strategic thinking, initiative, and the ability to handle multiple processes simultaneously are essential.

The Embassy welcomes applicants with different backgrounds and experiences. A security clearance will be conducted. The position is a local employment contract governed by local labour legislation. Local salary conditions apply. Swedish nationals may be subject to specific tax regulations, including the Special Income Tax for Non‑Residents (SINK).
