Annika Rembe is the Consul General of Sweden in New York. Previously she was the Director-General and President of the Swedish Institute, a public agency that promotes interest and trust in Sweden around the world.
Annika Rembe has held several high-ranking positions in the Swedish Government Offices, including Commissioner-General of the Swedish Committee for Sweden's participation in Expo 2010 in Shanghai and Director of Market Communications & Public Affairs at the Invest in Sweden Agency (now part of Business Sweden). Annika Rembe has served as a chairperson of the Swedish Governments Award for Music Export and been a member of The Council for the Promotion of Sweden (CPS). She is also a member of the Board of Swedes Abroad and of the Board of Trustees of the Sweden-American Foundation. Annika Rembe served as a President of EUNIC, European Union Network of Culture Institutes, from 2014-2015 and previously as the Vice President from 2012-2014.
Annika Rembe has also been a member of the Board of Directors of Business Sweden and of the Advisory Board of the Swedish Agency for Higher Education Services (VHS). Prior in her career, Annika Rembe held different positions in publishing and media.
Annika Rembe was born in Stockholm in 1955. She graduated from Stockholm University with a Master’s Degree in law.
