Swedish citizens who wish to apply for a Swedish passport at the Embassy of Sweden in Abu Dhabi must book an appointment online.
You book a time slot for passport application here: online-booking. Bring your filled-out copy of Swedish citizen – Form for passport applicant. All the information should be filled in prior to your appointment. This is of utmost importance, so that you do not miss your booked time slot. One slot time per person.
If you are a minor both guardians should be present at the Embassy, as well as bringing the filled out forms Guardian’s Certificate and verification of Swedish citizenship – Form for passport applicant. Please note that both forms have to be signed by both guardians.
The embassy receives passport applications only with appointments. Valid passport must be presented or if expired a valid ID card.
If you are a citizen of a non-EU country and want to visit Sweden for up to 90 days, you may need to apply for a Schengen visa.

If you are a resident of the United Arab Emirates you wish to travel to Sweden, you can submit your visa application together with the required documents in person at VFS Global in Abu Dhabi or Dubai, after having booked an appointment through the booking system at the homepage of VFS Global.
The visa application centres are located in World Trade Centre Mall, Level B2 (Lower Ground), Khalifa Bin Zayed The 1st Street (Airport Road) in Abu Dhabi and in Wafi Mall, First floor, Phase 5- Horus, Umm Hurair 2, in Dubai.

If you live in Bahrain and wish to apply for a visa for Sweden, the Embassy of Germany in Manama will examine your Schengen visa application, after having submitted it at the VFS Global.
If you live in Qatar and wish to apply for a visa for Sweden, the Embassy of the Netherlands in Doha will examine your Schengen visa application, after having submitted it at the VFS Global.
If you live in Kuwait and wish to apply for a visa for Sweden, the Embassy of the Netherlands in Kuwait City will examine your Schengen visa application, after having submitted it at the VFS Global.
Please note that the Embassy does not cooperate with any agents or other external actors who offer services for payment. No external actors can influence the processing time or the outcome of decision.
You can book an appointment for an interview only if you have been asked by the Swedish Migration Agency to do so.

These applications are submitted online to the Swedish Migration Agency by using their e-services. Please visit the Swedish Migration Agency’s website for more information.
You can visit the Embassy during migration section’s reception hours on Tuesdays between 09:00-11:00. During this visit, you must also be fingerprinted and photographed. This information will later be used to produce a residence permit card for you, if you are granted a permit.
You are welcome to visit during migration section’s reception hours on Tuesdays from 09:00 to 11:00, without an appointment. It is important to bring your original passport as the residence permit card will not be handed out without it.
