Following the closure of the European Union (EU) borders and the Schengen area as of 17th March 2020, the Embassy of France in Kampala is suspending all visa applications and issuance until further notice. The Embassy of France in Kampala is handling all short-stay visa applications in Uganda on behalf of Sweden, as per a Schengen representation agreement. Sweden has diplomatic relations with almost all States in the world. It has embassies and consulates in around half of these. Sweden's foreign representation consists of approximately 100 missions abroad and 350 honorary consulates.
