On 12 October 2025, a new digital Entry/Exit System (EES) will be introduced in the EU that applies to anyone travelling to or from Sweden and who is a third-country national. The purpose of the new system is, among other things, to make travel to the EU more efficient for travellers from third countries. The system also helps to prevent, detect and investigate terrorist offences and other serious crime.
