Honorary Consulate in Geneva reopens

The Swedish Honorary Consulate in Geneva will reopen on 11 October 2021. The new Honorary Consul is Ulf Snellman. The consulate is located at Rue de Lausanne 20 bis. Opening hours will be Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:00 to 14:00. Appointments must be made before visiting. Email: info@swedgen.ch Phone: 022 552 4041

    In April, the Cinématte in Bern will focus on Northern Europe and its filmmaking of the last few years. Films from Denmark, England/ Scotland, Finland, Iceland, Ireland, Norway, and Sweden will be shown. The Swedish film on the program is Ruben Östlund’s “The Square”.

    The work of Sámi artist Tomas Colbengtson and Swedish artist Stina Folkebrant explores issues of migration, herd mentality, time, and forgotten past. For the Mygration exhibition, Colbengtson selected and printed archival photos of Sámi immigrants to Alaska in the 1890s, which are paired with Folkebrant’s large-scale paintings of the eight seasons of the mountain world, illustrating the Sámi concept of time and the life of the reindeer.
