Signing of the NCIS Agreement

On 16 September 2019, the Cooperation Agreement on Establishment and Development of the National Criminal Intelligence System (NCIS) was signed.

The NCIS agreement was signed by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Nebojša Stefanović, Minister of Justice, Nela Kuburović, Minister of Finance, Siniša Mali, Republic Public Prosecutor, Zagorka Dolovac, Deputy Organized Crime Prosecutor, Jasmina Milanović Ganić, Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency, Dragan Sikimić and Director of the Office of the National Security Council and Classified Information Protection, Goran Matić.

Besides the signatories, the ambassadors of Sweden, H.E. Mr Jan Lundin and the Delegation of the European Union, H.E. Mr Sem Fabrizi, were also asked to address the audience as the representatives of the key partners to the Serbian government in the establishment of the NCIS.

H.E. Mr. Jan Lundin welcomed the agreement and said that it was a very important step for Serbia’s EU integration process and the requirements listed in the interim benchmarks for the Negotiation Chapter 24 of the EU acquis, which call for the establishment of a centralized criminal intelligence system and a safe platform for communicating and exchange of data between law enforcement and judicial authorities in charge of the fight against organized crime.
