As of 1 October, the consulate-general in Jerusalem will no longer handle migration cases. You should instead contact another foreign mission in the area that has a migration assignment.
You who are citizens of Palestine, or live there, have until now turned to the Swedish consulate-general in Jerusalem to apply for a residence and work permit.
From 1 October, 2025, you should instead personally visit another foreign mission in the area to, for example, conduct an interview or a passport control or provide biometric data. You can see which foreign missions can handle migration cases at migrationsverket.se
To book an appointment or to contact a foreign mission for other questions, see contact information at swedenabroad.se
If you have already applied to the consulate-general in Jerusalem and now, for example, have a booked investigation or are waiting for your residence permit card, you will be contacted.
Schengen Visa
If you live in Palestine and want to apply for a Schengen visa, from 1 October you can submit your application at one of VFS Global's offices in the area.
Your application and passport will be sent to the foreign mission responsible for applications in the country where you apply. That foreign mission will make a decision.
Passport and decision will then be sent back to VFS Global where you can pick them up. Please note that the consulate-general in Jerusalem will not be able to answer questions about Schengen visas. If you have questions, you should instead address them to VFS Global's call center. Contact information is available on VFS Global's website.
