The position is open to Egyptian nationals as well as to applicants of other nationalities with a permanent residence in Egypt. The deadline to apply is Thursday July 10, 2025.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Head of Section for Trade Promotion, Culture and Communications the successful candidate will have the following main responsibilities:
- Support the Embassy’s work with strategic promotion projects in areas such as digital connectivity, renewable energy, health and transport.
- Participate in the planning and execution of the Embassy’s trade and business promotion activities.
- Participate in the Embassy’s work on trade policy.
- Support the Embassy’s work with development cooperation and to strengthen synergies between trade, business promotion and development.
- Support the Embassy’s reporting in areas related to sustainability, climate, gender equality and human rights, but also broader economic and political analysis and governance issues as requested.
- Build and maintain contacts with the Swedish business community in Egypt, international organizations and international financial institutions relevant to the Embassy’s work.
Requirements:
- A university degree in political science, economics, international relations or other relevant fields.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in a related area.
- Knowledge and experience of project management as well as event planning, budgeting and execution.
- Knowledge and experience of analysis and reporting.
- Excellent command of Arabic and English in reading, writing, and speaking.
- Excellent communication and networking skills.
Desired skills:
The following skills and experiences would be regarded as a merit:
- A master’s degree in political science, economics, international relations or other relevant fields.
- Previous work experience in a bilateral Embassy on similar issues.
- Previous work experience from international organizations or international financial institutions.
- Knowledge of Sweden and/or the Swedish language.
The successful candidate should:

- Be able to plan and manage projects independently.
- Have strong organization, coordination, multitasking and time management skills.

Employment conditions:
The contract is full time and starts with a probation period of 6 months. The successful candidate should ideally start in September 2025. Salary is paid in USD and will be established based on education, experience, and other relevant criteria.
